Itinerary

  • Day 01 - Dubai / Beijing
    Fly Dubai/Beijing EK 306 0455/1525 – Daily (7h 30m)


    Upon arrival, be met and transferred to the hotel. Free for the rest of the day.

    OPTIONAL ACTIVITY

    Hop onboard an exciting 2-hour sidecar ride around the city and explore Beijing and its surroundings in a different way.

  • Day 02 - Beijing

    Start with a visit to the Temple of Heaven, a UNESCO heritage and the most holy of Beijing's imperial temples.

    OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES

    1-hour Morning exercises as local Beijinger: Meet your private Taichi Master to join the locals in morning exercises at the Temple of Heaven.

     

    Early afternoon, visit Tian An Men Square and the Forbidden City. Depending on the time, we can continue to walk in Jing Shan Park and have a panoramic view of the whole Forbidden City Complex.

    OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES

    1)    Chinese Kungfu Show: Enjoy an impressive Chinese Kungfu show about a Buddhist monk and his trials to be kungfu master.
    2)    Acrobatic Show:
    Watch a breath-taking acrobatic show, which includes various kinds of traditional acrobatic arts.
    3)    Peking Opera with pre-show behind the scenes visit.

  • Day 03 - Beijing

    Morning, walk in the Hutongs and learn about a local Beijinger’s life. You can choose 1 out of 2 routes below according to your interest.

    Route 1: Off the Beaten Route
    Visit to Yonghe Lama temple, the largest lamasery in Beijing. Have a first taste of a less touristy “Hutong” where we also get to see the Imperial Academy and Confucius temple.

    Route 2: Family-fun option
    Take a Rickshaw to view the Hutong passing by Siheyuan, the Drum Tower, a local home and a cultural immersion experience of your choice.

    You have a choice out of the following 4 experiences:
    1.      Learn Chinese paper-cut
    2.      Learn Kite-making
    3.      Biking through Hutong area
    4.      Learn to play diabolo – a traditional Beijing game by the locals

    End the day at Shichahai area famed for a summer retreats with lively nightlife. Transfer back to the hotel.

    1) 1-hour private class of painting Peking Opera face on a mask
    A private teacher will give you knowledge about Peking opera’s and teach you how to paint the Peking Opera character on a mask.

    2) Chinese instrument class
    Be introduced to Chinese Traditional Instruments and learn to play 2 kinds of instruments. 


    In the afternoon, we take a visit to Summer Palace. Walk in the beautiful garden and take 1-hour private boat ride on the Kunming Lake.

  • Day 04 - Beijing / Great Wall

    No visit to Beijing is complete without the Great Wall!Today, choose from 1 of the options below – all featuring less-visited sections of the wall, away from busloads of tourists!

    Option 1: Jingshanling Section – Tranquil walk into raw and unspoiled beauty   
    Visit the remote Jingshanling section and have the opportunity to appreciate a different perspective of the Wall. At the end of the hike, drive to your hotel which is set in the middle of the W water town right next to Simatai Great Wall.

    Option 2: Gubeikou to Jingshanlin Section  - Full Day Hike in untouched remote ruins (For adventurers and hikers)
    Hike on Gubeikou, a completely unrestored section, covered with over 140 watchtowers. At the end of the hike, drive to your hotel which is set in the middle of the W water town right next to Simatai Great Wall.

    Option 3: Mutianyu Section – Easy walk with restored steps and toboggan fun
    Drive to Mutianyu. Enjoy lunch in a courtyard restaurant and enjoy views of wall when dining.Take walks to enjoy the spectacular views from the Wall. For the adventurous, take toboggan ride to the bottom of the wall!

    Evening, drive to Brickyard hotel for a relaxing night in the middle of the authentic countryside villages by the wall.

  • Day 05 - Great Wall / Beijing / Xian

    Morning, enjoy your leisure time in the town. Transfer to airport for your flight to Xian.

    Fly Beijing/Xian MU 2106 1050/1255– Daily (2h 5m)


    Upon arrival, transfer to visit the Hanyang Tomb - a joint tomb of the fourth Emperor and Empress of the Han Dynasty. Choose from 1 of the options below:

    Option 1: Demonstration of Relic Restoration - Participate a vivid demonstration of Relic Restoration addressed by experts, taking you behind the scenes of the restoration work.

    Option 2: Family Fun option Experience a Simulated Excavation – in a practice project where you become an “archaeological trainee”! Children and adults alike get a hands-on experience of a real excavation of historical ruins.

    This evening, be entertained by a Shadow Play & a Puppet Show at an ancient-styled folk house.

    If energy and time permit, explore the Muslim Quarter and take a Street Food Walking Tour into the Muslim street.

  • Day 06 - Xian

    Morning, walk or bike on the Ancient City Wall. Followed by a visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a Buddhist pagoda was built in 652 during the Tang Dynasty.

    Afternoon, we visit the Terra Cotta Warriors, thousands of life-sized soldiers, all companions for the burial of the first emperor of China.

    This evening, you can attend 1 show according to your interest.

    Option 1: The Song of Everlasting Sorrow - A large-scale real-scene historical dance drama, telling the tragic love story of Xuanzong and his beloved concubine Yang Yuhuan.

    Option 2: Tang Dynasty Dinner show (Dinner included) - Be treated to a Tang dynasty show (Tang Dynasty was the most prosperous and colorful of all of China's ancient Dynasties!)

  • Day 07 - Xian / Dubai

    Free in the morning, till transfer to airport for flight back.

    1 Day Extension in Xian:

    For adventurous, extend 1 day in Xi’an to have a day excursion to Mt Huashan, the steepest mountain in North China.
