Itinerary

  • Day 00/01 - Dubai/ Kathmandu
    Fly Dubai /Kathmandu FZ 571 0845/1430 - Daily (4h) 

    Upon arrival, be met and transferred to your airport hotel - you will also be handed your Tibet permit。

  • Day 02 - Kathmandu/Lhasa
    Fly Kathmandu / Lhasa CA 408 1250/1630 – Daily (1h 25m)

    Upon arrival, met and transfer to your hotel. At 3,500m, it is advisable to take the rest of the day easily for better acclimatization.

  • Day 03 - Lhasa

    Start your exploration of Lhasa with Potala Palace, an UNESCO world heritage site. The Potala Palace is known as a historical and cultural museum of Tibetan Buddhism, housing many artifacts of ancient Tibet.

    If you are keen, do join the devout locals to walk “Kora” the pilgrim route around the Potala Palace.

    After lunch, explore Barkhor Square – the bustling market in the heart of old Lhasa with its narrow streets. Followed by a visit to Jokhang monastery – the “central cathedral” –the most important religious activity center for Tibetan Buddhism.

    Optional: Tonight, you might want to a show about “Princess Wencheng” and her marriage the Tibetan King 1400 years ago.

  • Day 04 - Lhasa

    This morning, visit the outskirt of Lhasa to enjoy the beauty of nature. You can choose 1 out of the 2 options below to visit for this morning.

    Option 1: Visit Ganden Monastery, the greatest and the oldest of the six Gelug Sect's monasteries. Hike up to the hill and take a panoramic view of the landscape. Return to Lhasa for lunch.

    Option 2: Visit Drak Yerpa, a sprititual heritage with more than 80 meditation caves.  Visit some of the places where the former Tibet King meditates. On the way back to Lhasa, stop at a local village, where you can interact with a local family.

    Afternoon, visit Tibet Museum and browse the collections of the treasures found in Tibet. Continue to Sera Monastery and catch the interesting monk debating session (every Mon to Fri afternoon only).

  • Day 05 - Lhasa/Gyantze

    Today, leave Lhasa to Gyantze. Drive past Kampa La pass and stop at Yamdrok Lake for picnic lunch and hang your praying flays.

    Stop at Karo La pass at 5,020m, where you can take a good view of the Karo La Glacier. Visit the Pelkor Chode Monastery and the Kumbum, to see the biggest Pagoda and colorful murals, which manifested from different aspects of Buddhist religion.

    In late afternoon, reach Gyantze and check into the hotel. If time permits, you may wish to take a walk in the old town.

  • Day 06 - Gyantze/Xigatse

    For the adventurous: Early morning, hike to the top of Gyantze Dzong, where you can take a panoramic view of the rustic old town as well as vast field.

    Morning, visit the Pala Manor, a serf manor once owned by famous noble Pala family, which is one of the richest family in Tibetan history.

    Continue to drive to Xigatze and visit the impressive Tashilungpo Monastery, seat of Panchen Lama, second in order to Dalai Lama.

  • Day 07 - Xigatse/Lhasa

    This morning, you are welcome to join locals to walk kora along the Pilgrim route.

    Afterward, drive back to Lhasa. En route, visit a local Tibetan village, to see their traditional tranquil lifestyle and drop by a carpet factory.

    In the afternoon, you can continue to shop in the bazaar around Barkhor Square or discover Lhasa on your own pace.

  • Day 08 - Lhasa / Dubai
    Transfer to the airport for flight.
