Itinerary

  • Day 01 - Dubai / Delhi/ Paro
    Fly Dubai / Delhi EK 510 0400/0905 (3hr 35min) - Daily
      Delhi / Paro KB 205 1215/1505 (2hr 15min) - Daily

     

    Upon arrival, check into your hotel.

  • Day 02 - Paro

    Hike off the beaten path to the 15th century Zurig Lhakhang above Paro Dzong overlooking the valley.

    Enroute, visit the iconic 17th century Paro Rinpung Dzong and descend to Drukgyel Dzong. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the ruins. After lunch, it’s time for an archery shootout and dart game!

  • Day 03 - Paro

    Set on a vertical cliff face, the Taktshang Monastery defies all engineering logic. Hike up for a dramatic view or choose to take a pony ride that can be arranged at an additional cost.

    Visit Kyichu Lhakang and enjoy a home-cooked dinner in a farmhouse for that authentic Bhutanese experience!

  • Day 04-06/08 – Trekking Trail

    Option A - 3 Days Juniper Trail (Paro to Paro)

    4 to 6 hours of walking a day; Highest point is 4150m
    Difficulty - Moderate
    2 nights overnight camping

    Traverse through thick alpine forest to Tsendu La (3775m) and trail along the forsaken ancient trade route between Paro and Haa Valley to Pangka La (4150m). The trek starts and ends in Paro. 

    Option B - 5 Days Druk Path Trek

    5 to 6 hours of walking a day; Highest point is 4210m
    Difficulty - Difficult
    4 nights of overnight camping

    Trek along the ridge with dramatic views of the valley and Mt Jumolhari as the backdrop. The path then descends into the thick alpine forest where you may chance upon the occasional yak herders. The trek starts in Paro and ends in Thimphu.

  • Day 07/09 - (Paro) / Thimphu / Biking To Dochu La / Punakha

    For Option A) Drive 1.5 hours from Paro to Thimphu before starting your biking expedition

    Cycle up the road to Dochu La (3050m) involving a 22km ride and a height gain of 670m (rated moderate to difficult).The perimeter of the road is covered in a luxuriant temperate forest. Meet your support vehicle at the pass and stop for rest and refreshment.

    Descend and emerge into the highly cultivated valley of Punakha. Take a short hike through beautiful rice fields to Chimmi Lhakhang.

  • Day 08/10 - Punakha

    Begin the day early with a bout of white water rafting. Picnic by the river before trying your hand in archery. Visit Punakha Dzong, arguably the most impressive Dzong in the country.

  • Day 09/11 - Punakha / Paro

    Visit a stunning hill-top nunnery- Sangchen Dorji Lhundrup Chholing dedicated to the bodhisattva of compassion (Avaloketeshvara). This afternoon, drive back to Paro. Enjoy your day at leisure.

  • Day 10/12 - Paro / Delhi / Dubai

    After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight home .
