This is the land of the Sharchops, who speak their own language and nurture their own culture and weave beautiful textiles.

  • Day 01 - Dubai / Delhi / Paro
    Fly Dubai / Delhi EK 510 0400/0905 (3hr 35min) - Daily
      Delhi / Paro KB 205 1215/1505 (2hr 15min) - Daily

    Hike off to Zurig Lhakhang above Paro Dzong.

    En route, visit the iconic Paro Rinpung Dzong and descend to Drukgyel Dzong. Picnic amidst the ruins then head off for a game of archery and dart.

  • Day 02 - Paro / Trashigang

    Drive to Trashigang, the main market place for the semi-nomadic people of Merak and Sakteng. Visit Tashigang Dzong and Gamri Chu.

    Optional: For the adventurous, take a 5/7 Days of Sakteng/Merak Eco Trek to see the Twin Jewels of the East, a rare opportunity long closed to outsiders.

  • Day 03 - Transhigang / Mongar

    Drive 3 hours though Chir pine forest and rhododendrons to “Yadi loops”, one of Bhutan’s most beautiful road works. Along the way, pass by Drametse Goemba famous for its Nga Chham drum dance. Arrive at Mongar Dzong and a typical local farmhouse to see how local wine is being brewed.

  • Day 04 - Mongar / Lhuentse / Mongar

    Drive to the isolated Lhuentse, best known for its weavers and distinctive textiles. Visit Lhuentse Dzong, perched high atop a rocky outcrop overlooking the valley and begin your 2 hour hike from kurizampa to khoma village. Drive back to Mongar.

  • Day 05 - Mongar / Bumthang

    Drive 8 hours to Bumthang along some of the most enchanting views in the country. Evergreen junipers and colorful rhododendrons cover the hillsides along with the sound of the rushing streams and cascading waterfalls.

  • Day 06 - Bumthang

    Visit Jakar Dzong, one of the largest dzongs in Bhutan. Begin your hike from the impressive Kurjey Lhakhang on the western side of Chamkhar Chu (river) to Tamshing Monastery. Learn about the valley’s unique cottage industries.

    Optional: For the adventurous, Bumthang is great for fly-fishing, trekking, biking, horse-riding etc! A 3-day trek can be arranged, for an immersion into Bhutan’s rural village lifestyle.

  • Day 07 - Bumthang / Trongsa / Phobjikha Valley

    A long but stunning scenic drive brings you to Phobjikha Valley (5 hours). The road winds its way up and across two high passes at Pele-La (3390m) and Yotong-La (3425m). En route, visit Trongsa Dzong – the ancestral home of the royal family.

  • Day 08 - Phobjikha / Punakha

    Visit Gangtey Goemba hidden in the beautiful Phobjikha Valley. Hike on a nature trail for 1.5 hours to the valley. Drive westwards to Punakha and visit a stunning hill-top nunnery - Sangchen Dorji Lhundrup Chholing.

  • Day 09 - Punakha

    Hike through beautiful rice fields to Chimmi Lhakhang. In the afternoon, visit Punakha Dzong located at the confluence of the Pho Chu (male river) and Mo Chu (female river).

  • Day 10 - Punakha / Thimphu

    Drive 3 hours to Thimphu and cross the mountain pass of Dochu La (3050m).

    Drive on to the BBS Tower Viewpoint before visiting the Takin Preserve. Take a view of the majestic Tashichoe Dzong before circumventing the Memorial Chorten.

    Brush shoulders with the everyday Bhutanese at the Centenary Farmers Market and the craft bazaar. Tour the National Institute of Traditional Medicine and Folk Heritage.

  • Day 11 - Thimphu / Paro

    Drive to Paro (1.5 hours).

    Set on a vertical cliff face, the Taktshang Monastery defies all engineering logic. Hike up or choose to take apony ride that can be arranged at an additional cost.

    Visit Kyichu Lhakang and enjoy a home-cooked dinner in a farmhouse.

  • Day 12 - Paro / Delhi / Dubai

    After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight home.
