  • Day 01 - Dubai / Delhi
    Fly  Dubai /Delhi 9W 545 1445/1940 – Daily (3h 25m)

    On arrival, be met and transferred to your hotel in Delhi.

  • Day 02 - Delhi
    This morning, meet a specialist guide and set out on a rickshaw into Old Delhi(3-hours tour includes audio aid for a live commentary, hot and cold drinks and food from the famous eateries.)

    In afternoon, experience a tour of Indian legend Mahatma Ghandi in Delhi from a local perspective with rides on public transport. Follow his footsteps with your specialist guide around various historical monuments associated with the life and times of Mahatma Gandhi. (This tour does not operate on Mondays & national holidays)

  • Day 03 - Delhi / Train Embarkation

    Visit Humayun Tomb - a magnificent Mughal building which served as a model for Taj Mahal. Continue to see 12th century Qutab Minar with its imposing victory tower. Visit the exteriors of some interesting buildings in Lutyens' Delhi - India Gate, the President’s House and Parliament House

    View changing of guards outside President's House every Saturday only

    Have a view of true India by entering the Nizamuddin area and into the mystical world of Sufism as you visit the Dargah of one of the world’s most famous Sufi saints. Take a walk into the impoverished neighbourhood and visit Project HOPE, a meaningful initiative to educate children of rag pickers.

    This evening, transfer to the Safdarjung Railway Station and get aboard to theMaharajas Express (Embarkation time at 8:30pm). You will be given a traditional Indian welcome. Very soon the train will chug its way out of the station and towards Arga.

  • Day 04 - Agra

    Welcome to Agra! Today you’ll be taken on an early morning sightseeing of the spectacular Taj Mahal, considered to be one of the most romantic destinations in the world. Later enjoy a champagne breakfast and return to the train for lunch. *Taj Mahal is undergoing restoration and the scaffolding around the main dome of Taj Mahal will remain in place till earliest spring 2017, may vary till 2018. Please contact your travel specialist for more details.

    After lunch, embark on a sightseeing tour to Agra Fort, once the center of Mighty Mughals empire. Later you may choose to go for a rejuvenating spa in 5 star property or sightseeing tour to Fatehpur Sikri and Itmad-ud-Daulah Tomb.

    Return to the comfort of the train later in the day to continue your onward journey to Ranthambore and Jaipur.

  • Day 05 - Ranthambore
    Upon arrival, you’ll be taken to answer the call of the wild in Ranthambore National Park. It is one of the most popular tiger reserves in India and considered to be the best bet when it comes to spotting the elusive cats. Return to the train later for a leisurely breakfast as the train rolls on to Jaipur.

    Trip to Amber Fort is included in today’s itinerary followed by a royal Elephant Polo Match where guests could either watch the exciting game or even participate. Later, guests will be taken to an exclusive venue for a sumptuous dinner.

  • Day 06 - Disembark at Delhi / Jodhpur

    This morning, bid farewell with your Maharaja Express in Delhi and on arrival, in time transfer to airport to board your flight for Jodhpur.

    Upon arrival, explore the majestic Mehrangarh Fort - with walls that soar like sheer cliffs boasting many palaces within. Close to the fort is the 19th century Jaswant Thada - a fascinating creation in white marble. Take a rickshaw/tonga ride into the old town. On a walking tour with a specialist guide, dive deep into the heart of Jodhpur to discover the lesser-known treasures of this enchanting city. Learn about interesting legends, interact with city’s residents, and wonder through narrow alleyways dotted with Indigo coloured houses.

     Optional: Enjoy a stunning outdoor roof top Rajasthani dining experience with unbeatable views of the Mehrangarh Fort and the Blue City at Hanumant Mahal!
  • Day 07 - Jodhpur / Rawla Narlai
    Head for a lesser known gem halfway to Udaipur - The Rawla Narlai, a stylish 17th century hunting retreat of the Maharajah set in characterful landscape free from mass tourism (2.5 hrs drive). Some activities available here are village walks, sundowner, horse-riding, bird-watching by the lake and more!

    Enjoy Rawla Narlai and the activities for the rest of your day.

  • Day 08 - Rawla Narlai / Udaipur
    After breakfast, start drive to Udaipur enroute visiting Ranakpur temple - the biggest and most important Jain Temple in India, beautiful and intriguing - one of the finest examples of complex and sustained levels of craftsmanship the Jains are renowned for. 

    Continue to the City of Sunrise – Udaipur, a lovely land around the azure water lake, hemmed in by the lush hills of the Aravallis. Get aboard on a speedboat and transfer to the hotel in the middle of oroverlooking Lake Pichola.

  • Day 09 - Udaipur

    Today, waltz around this romantic city with cruise on Lake Pichola and a visit to the huge City Palace and Jagdish temple. Take a 2.5 hours walk reveals the real Udaipur - its people and the living traditions! Visit the pristine Ghats dotted with ancient temples, witness local craft like bamboo, pottery and jewellery-making, and meet a local family in their 150 years traditional mansion laced with painting and splendid mirror art work.

     Optional: Enjoy dinner with a local Rajput family with cooking demonstration of family recipes in the kitchen garden of Rakshita. Learn about cuisine and the Rajputs.

  • Day 10 - Udaipur / Delhi / Dubai
    After leisurely breakfast, we head for a half day excursion to Nagda and Ekling Ji Temple (45 min dirve). Eklingji is a Hindu temple complex more than 1300 years old. There are 108 shrines within the temple complex, filigree-like in appearance, and made of sandstone and marble. Return to Udaipur in late afternoon and transfer to airport after dinner.
