Itinerary

  • Day 01 - Dubai/Reykjavik
    Fly Dubai/London EK 1 0745 /1135– Daily ( 7h 50m)
      London/Reykjavik FI 451 1300/1600 – Daily (3h)

  • Day 02 - Reykjavik /Þingvellir /Geysir/Hella

    Morning, choose 1 of 2 activities (Private transfer, join-in activity)

    1. Into the Volcano – Thrihnukagigur
    Ever wondered how the inside of a volcano looks inside? Drive 30km from Reykjavik. Descend 120m intothe volcano, which erupted 4000 years ago, through the top crater into the ground floor of magma chamber, via a cable lift.

    2. Diving between Continents – Silfra
    With up to 100metres of underwater visibility, and located on top of the separation between Europe and America, this is one of the world’s top dive sites!
    Note: Activity for certified divers only. For non-divers snorkeling option is available. 

     

    Afternoon, visit Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the few places in the world where you can see the effects of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates pulling apart. Explore the Geysir hot spring area before seeing Gullfoss waterfalls – the “Golden Falls” where you can witness white water thundering down a 32 meters drop into an impressive canyon.

  • Day 03 - Hella / South Coast / Jökulsárlón

    Start your adventure along the south coast. The area is quite spectacular with the black sand and hard ocean waves beating the shore of Reynisfjara beach – known as black sand beach. The rock formations of Reynisdrangar are a signature landmark. 

    Visit the charming local town Víkí Mýrdal and two of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls; Seljalandsfoss and Skógarfoss. Proceed to Dyrhólaey; a 120 meter high rock inhabited by numerous types of birds, including the puffin. Make a stop at Sólheimajökull glacier tongue and take a short hike on the ice. 

    In the afternoon, we continue to Jökulsárlón.

  • Day 04 - Jökulsárlón / / Skaftafell / Breiddalur

    Today explore the area surrounding Vatnajökull glacier, Europe´s largest ice-cap. Begin by heading to Skaftafell National Park for an easy 1-2 hour hike.

    Afterwards, visit the spectacular Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, where icebergs drift out to sea. Hop on an unforgettable boat tour on Jökulsárlón and enjoy the views!  

    Drive to your hotel located in the beautiful Breiddalur valley.

  • Day 05 - Breiddalur / Bakkagedi / Egilstadir / Lake Myvatn

    This morning, drive to Borgarfjordur Eystri which will offer you a chance to experience a genuine Icelandic fishing village with a small boat fishery.  

    Spend the afternoon driving along the scenic East Coast of Iceland. Visit the puffin island Hafnarholmi before continuing your drive up to the north to Lake Myvatn Area. After a long drive you have opportunity to soak in the Nature Baths and take in the view of Lake Myvatn.

  • Day 06 - Lake Myvatn Area

    Today visit the pseudo-crater of Skútustadagigar,  a peculiar geological phenomenon, as well as the mystical Dimmuborgir – Dark Cities, which are full of lava pillars and formations.  

    We will explore the warm underground river in Grjotagja rift and head to Krafla volcano region. 

    Get the opportunity to explore the Lofhellir lava cave, which is 3500 years old and around 370 meters long.

  • Day 07 - Lake Myvatn Area

    This morning, visit the majestic Dettifoss waterfall, which boasts the highest volume of water in Europe – 500 cubic meters per second!     End the day in Husavik – the whale watching capital of the north! Head to watch whales on a beautiful oak boat. (Whale-watching tour is conducted join in basis)

  • Day 08 - Lake Myvatn Area / Akureyri/ Reykjavik

    This morning, head for a 2 hours horse riding tour in the lava fields and beautiful Lake Myvatn area.

    Transfer to Akureyri and enjoy a walking tour around the city before transferring to the airport to catch your flight back to Reykjavik.

  • Day 09 - Reykjavik /Dubai

    Late morning, head to the Blue Lagoon, a unique spa featuring a huge outdoor lagoon filled with geothermal hot water. Transfer to the airport for your flight.

  • OPTIONAL EXTENSION: 4-NIGHT GREENLAND
    Just over 3 hours away from Iceland is Greenland – a World away! In the remote town of Ilulissat,  get familiar with this traditional Greenlandic town north of the Polar Circle and see the floating icebergs on the unique Disco Bay. Ilulissat means iceberg in Greenlandic and is aptly named.  When approaching the town by air, you‘ll be able to see icebergs that have broken off the ice sheet sail through the Kangia ice fjord.  The icefjord is part of the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2004, and old hunter settlements are also found nearby, in the Sermermiut valley.
  • Day 07 - Reykjavik / Ilulissat

    Transfer to the domestic airport of Reykjavik to catch your flight to Greenland.

    Be met on arrival by your guide on arrival with a welcome briefing on private basis.

    This afternoon, take an afternoon hike (join in basis) to the abandoned settlement Sermermiut swhere traces from the 3 old Inuit cultures can still be seen. Visit the UNESCO designated Ilulissat Icefjord – and enjoy the stunning view over the Icebergs. (2 hours).

  • Day 08 - Ilulissat
    Have a full day tour to Eqi Glacier. Cruise and approach the edge of this 50m high, 5km wide glacier and witness it calving. Enjoy lunch onboard. On the way back to Ilulissat we will keep our eyes open, and hopefully spot some whales.

  • Day 09 - Ilulissat
    Today, take a cultural city walk of Ilulissat (2 hours) for n enhanced understanding of the Greenlandic culture and history, and the modern life 300 km north of the Arctic Circle. Visit the fishermen at the harbour and the hunters at their trading post “Brædtet and the house where the famous explorer Knud Rasmussen was born.

    Afternoon is at leisure. You might want to take a Whale-watching Safari or a Helicopter Trip over the Ilulissat Glacier (Optional, at own cost).

    Tonight, take a midnight sailing among Icebergs (timing may differ depending on month).

  • Day 10 - Ilulissat//Reykjavik (Or Copenhagen)
