Itinerary

  • Day 01 - Dubai / Paro/ Thimphu
    Fly Dubai / Delhi EK 510 0400/0905 (3hr 35min) - Daily
      Delhi / Paro KB 205 1215/1505 (2hr 15min) - Daily

     

    Drive to the BBS Tower Viewpoint for a stunning view of the valley before visiting the Takin Preserve to see the national animal of Bhutan- Takin. Head off to the Changlingmithang National Stadium for an archery shoot-out!

    Brush shoulders with the everyday Bhutanese at the Centenary Farmers Market and the craft bazaar. Take a tour of the National Institute of Traditional Medicine and Folk Heritage.

  • Day 02 - Thimphu / Punakha

    Drive about 3 hours to Punakha.

    Climb up the mountain road to Dochu La at 3140m. On a clear day, the pass commands a wonderful panorama of the Eastern Himalayas. Descend through varied forest and finally emerging into the cultivated valley of Punakha.

    Hike through beautiful rice fields to Chimmi Lhakhang Temple. Visit a stunning hill-top nunnery- Sangchen Dorji Lhundrup Chholing.

  • Day 03 - Punakha

    Go white water rafting (grade 2 and 3) on the confluence of the Pho Chu (male river) and Mo Chu (female river). Picnic by the river before trying your hand in archery, the national sport of Bhutan.

    Visit Punakha Dzong, arguably the most impressive Dzong in the country.

  • Day 04 - Punakha / Paro

    Re-cross Dochu La and enjoy a picturesque picnic lunch enroute. Arrive Paro in the afternoon. Choose either an easy biking trip (15 km) along cultivated farmlands and villages (child bikes avilaable) or experience fly-fishing (seasonal) amidst the beautiful alpine laes teeming with giant sized trout!

  • Day 05 - Paro

    Set on a vertical cliff face, the Taktshang Monastery defies all engineering logic. Hike up for a dramatic view or choose to take a pony ride that can be arranged at an additional cost. V

    isit Kyichu Lhakang and enjoy a home-cooked dinner in a farmhouse for that authentic Bhutanese experience!

  • Day 06 - Paro / Delhi / Dubai

    After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight home.

    1-day Extension Option

    Overnight Bumdra Trek via Taktshang Monastery

    A unique trek up to the unspoiled wilderness of Bhutan’s Taktshang Monastery, rated moderate to challenging. The trek begins at Sangchen Chokhor and through untouched forests and meadows of wildflower. Camp at Bumdra before descending to Taktshang Monastery the next morning.

    Haa Valley Alpine Explorer (with Biking and Overnight Village Homestay Option)

    Take a 3 hour drive across Chele Las and arrive at the remote Haa valley. Discover the nomadic lifestyle of the Haap culture. Overnight in a village farmhouse, sampling home cooked delicacies and washing it down with Ara- a local brew.
